Dentures and Partials for Savvy Chicago Patients
Missing teeth have an impact not just on your oral health, but your life. Things we take for granted, such as eating our favorite foods or talking with friends, become a source of discomfort and anxiety. If you’re missing most of your teeth, or are experiencing acute dental disease and need relief, Lakefront Dental can help restore your smile with dentures.
What type of denture is right for you? Lakefront Dental offers several denture types, including full dentures, partial dentures, implant-retained dentures, and overdentures. Your current oral health may determine which type of denture is best.
For patients who are missing one or both arches of teeth, Lakefront Dental offers complete dentures. Dentures should not slip, click, or cause you excessive discomfort. Regular visits help us maintain your denture, making sure that as bone and gums shrink, your dentures remain comfortable and functional.
If you’re missing several teeth and crown and bridgework or dental implants are not an option, removable partial dentures may be attached to the remaining teeth using a clasp, and can easily be removed by the patient for cleaning. Fixed partials dentures, or crown and bridgework, anchor to the remaining teeth for stability and can only be removed by your dentist.
Patients with good oral health and bone density may be candidates for implant-retained overdentures. Dental implants are surgically placed below the gum to provide an anchor for a partial or full denture. Implant-retained overdentures offer benefits over traditional dentures, such as improved fit, better retention, and enhanced stability.
